Description:
1. Indications
(a) Kidney stones: It helps prevent and treat kidney stones by making the urine less acidic.
(b) Renal tubular acidosis (RTA): Used to manage RTA with calcium stones.
2. Formulation
(a) Each extended-release tablet contains 1,080 mg of potassium citrate.
3. How to Use
(a) Take this medication by mouth with meals or a bedtime snack.
(b) Swallow the tablets whole with a full glass of water.
(c) Do not crush or chew the tablets.
(d) Avoid lying down for at least 10 minutes after taking it.
(e) Follow your doctor's instructions regarding diet and fluid intake.
4. Contraindications
(a) Hypersensitivity to potassium citrate.
(b) Type 1 diabetes or diabetic ketoacidosis.
