VALIANZ Amlo+Valsartan 5mg/80mg FCTablet is a prescription medication that combines two active ingredients:
1. Amlodipine (as besilate) 5 mg: Amlodipine is used to treat certain types of angina (chest pain) and other conditions caused by coronary artery disease, which involves narrowing of the blood vessels that supply blood to the heart.
2. Valsartan 80 mg: Valsartan is an angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB) used for the treatment of hypertension (high blood pressure). It helps relax blood vessels, reducing blood pressure.

1. Formulation
(a) Each film-coated tablet contains Amlodipine 5 mg and Valsartan 80 mg.
2. Indications
(a) Used for the treatment of hypertension.
(b) May be used in patients whose blood pressure is not adequately controlled on either monotherapy.
(c) Also used as initial therapy in patients who are likely to need multiple drugs to achieve blood pressure goals.
3. Contraindications
(a) Avoid in patients with biliary cirrhosis or cholestasis, severe hypotension, or shock (i.e., cardiogenic shock).
(b) Not recommended in severe hepatic impairment.
(c) Use with caution during pregnancy.
