How much and how often should you use the product?
If you wear contact lenses, make sure you remove them before using boric acid eye drops. Some preservatives used in the solutions can be absorbed by the contact lenses and can cause discoloration. Wait for around 15 minutes after using the eye drops before putting your contact lenses back.
Do not use the eyewash if you have any open wounds or sores around your eyes. Immediately throw out the eyewash once it expires or has begun to look cloudy.
To use the eyedropper:
- Open the eye dropper bottle.
- Tilt your head back and tug the lower eyelid gently downward.
- Position the dropper over your eye without touching it.
- Apply only the number of drops recommended.
- Close your eyelid to draw the liquid over the eyeball surface.
- Blot any excess fluid from around your eye with a clean tissue paper.
- Repeat with the other eye, if needed.
- Rinse the cap with water and replace it tightly.
To use the rye cup:
- Open the bottle.
- Pour as much eyewash into the cup as recommended.
- Tilt your head forward over the sink.
- Place the cup firmly around your eye.
- Tilt your head back and open your eye.
- Move your eyeball around so that it is fully covered in the eyewash.
- Tilt your head forward.
- Pour the contents of the cup down the drain.
- Repeat with the other eye, if needed.
- Rinse the cup with water and replace it tightly.
