Indications: It is given prophylactically as an alternative to Aspirin in patients at risk of thromboembolic disorders such as myocardial infarction, peripheral arterial disease, and stroke. Contraindications: Clopidogrel is contraindicated in hypersensitivity, active pathological bleeding, administration within 7 days after Myocardial infarction and ischaemic stroke, coagulation disorders and lactation.

Dyspepsia, abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, flatulence, constipation, gastritis, gastric and duodenal ulcers, GI upset, diarrhea, parathesia, vertigo, headache, pruritus and rashes. Potentially life-threatening adverse drug reactions: Bleeding disorders including gastrointestinal and intracranial haemorrhage. Blood dyscrasias.
