WHAT IS THE MEDICINE USED FOR?
- For the relief of symptoms of allergic rhinitis:
- For the prophylaxis and chronic treatment of asthma in children 6 months old and older and in adults
- For the prevention of exercise-induced bronchoconstriction in children 2 years and older and in adults.
HOW MUCH AND HOW OFTEN SHOULD YOU USE THIS MEDICINE?

- Hypersensitivity to Montelukast
(Precautions) Not for the treatment of acute asthma attacks including status asthmaticus. Avoid concomitant use w/ aspirin or NSAIDs in patients w/ known aspirin sensitivity. Monitor neuropsychiatric events. Pregnancy & lactation. Infants <6 mth. (Adverse Reactions) Headache, dizziness, hyperkinesia (in young childn), somnolence; rhinorrhea, cough, influenza, upper resp tract infection, nasal congestion, laryngitis, pharyngitis, sinusitis, rhinitis, pneumonia, wheezing, tonsillitis, acute bronchitis, viral infection; diarrhea, abdominal pain, infectious gastroenteritis, nausea, vomiting, dyspepsia; rash, eczema, atopic dermatitis/dermatitis, skin infection, urticaria; asthenia/fatigue, fever, trauma, otic pain, otitis/otitis media, conjunctivitis, myopia, epistaxis, dental pain, varicella, tooth infection, thirst; increased serum alanine & aspartate aminotransferases, pyuria.
