CISFLEM Carbocisteine Syrup 250 mg/5 ml – 60 ml
DESCRIPTION
CISFLEM Carbocisteine Syrup is a mucolytic preparation used to help relieve respiratory conditions associated with thick and excessive mucus. Carbocisteine works by thinning and loosening mucus in the airways, making it easier to cough out and improving breathing comfort.
INDICATION
• Used for relief of cough by excessive or sticky phlegm
• Helps treat respiratory tract disorders, such as:
o Acute or chronic bronchitis
o Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD)
• Used for treatment of otitis media with effusion and glue ear
DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION
• Adult: 2 teaspoonfuls (10 mL)
• To be given 3-4 times a day or as prescribed by the physician
This medicine is taken orally. Take with a glass of water. Do not take more than the stated dose shown.
PRECAUTIONS
• Do not take this medicine if allergic to Carbocisteine
• Use with caution in patients with:
o History of peptic ulceration
o Gastrointestinal bleeding
• Consult a doctor before use if pregnant or breastfeeding
• Do not exceed recommended dose
• If symptoms persist or worsen, consult a healthcare professional
• Keep out of reach of children
SIDE EFFECTS
• Generally well tolerated. Possible side effects may include:
o Gastrointestinal discomfort (nausea, vomiting, diarrhea)
o Stomach pain
o Skin rash (rare)
