DESCRIPTION
LOPER Loperamide Hydrochloride Capsule is an antidiarrheal medication used to reduce the frequency and volume of stools. Loperamide works by slowing intestinal movement, allowing more time for water and electrolyte absorption, thereby producing firmer stools and reducing urgency.

USES
• Acute non specific diarrhea
• Chronic diarrhea associated with inflammatory bowel conditions
• Reduction of stool output in patients with ileostomy
• Symptomatic relief of diarrhea as advised by a healthcare professional

DOSAGE
Use as directed by a physician.
• Adults:
o Initial dose: 2 capsules (4 mg) after the first loose stool
o Followed by 1 capsule (2 mg) after each subsequent loose stool
o Maximum dose: 8 mg per day (unless otherwise prescribed)
• Children: Use only upon medical advice
Capsules should be swallowed whole with water.

PRECAUTIONS
• Do not use in cases of bloody diarrhea, high fever, or suspected bacterial enterocolitis
• Not recommended for children below 6 years unless prescribed
• Use with caution in patients with liver impairment
• Stop use immediately if constipation, abdominal distension, or ileus develops
• Consult a healthcare professional before use during pregnancy or breastfeeding
• Seek medical advice if diarrhea persists for more than 48 hours
