DIATABS Loperamide Capsule 2mg
DESCRIPTION
DIATABS Loperamide Capsule 2mg contains loperamide hydrochloride, an anti diarrheal medication. It works by slowing down intestinal movement, allowing more water and electrolytes to be absorbed from the bowel. This results in firmer stools and reduced frequency of bowel movements.

USES
• Symptomatic treatment of acute diarrhea
• Management of chronic diarrhea as advised by a physician
• Reduction of stool volume and frequency
• Helps relieve urgency and abdominal discomfort associated with diarrhea

DOSAGE
• Adults and children 12 years and above:
o Initial dose: 2 capsules (4mg) after the first loose stool
o Followed by 1 capsule (2mg) after each subsequent loose stool
• Maximum dose: 8 capsules (16mg) per day
Discontinue use once stools are firm or if constipation occurs.
Use only for short term treatment unless directed by a physician.

PRECAUTIONS
• Do not exceed the recommended dose
• Not recommended for children below 6 years old
• Do not use in cases of bloody diarrhea, high fever, or acute dysentery
• Use with caution in patients with liver disease
• Consult a doctor before use if pregnant or breastfeeding
• Stop taking and seek medical advice if diarrhea persists beyond 2 days
• Maintain adequate fluid and electrolyte intake during diarrhea
