DESCRIPTION
TGP Clindamycin HCl Capsule 150 mg is a lincosamide antibiotic used to treat serious bacterial infections caused by susceptible organisms. It works by inhibiting bacterial protein synthesis, thereby stopping bacterial growth. It is commonly prescribed when patients are allergic to penicillin or when infections are caused by anaerobic bacteria.

USES
• Treatment of skin and soft tissue infections
• Management of respiratory tract infections
• Treatment of bone and joint infections
• Management of dental infections
• Treatment of intra abdominal and pelvic infections
• Infections caused by anaerobic bacteria and susceptible gram positive organisms

DOSAGE
• Adults:
Usually 150–300 mg every 6 hours, depending on the severity of the infection, or as prescribed by a healthcare professional.
• Take with a full glass of water to reduce irritation of the esophagus.
• May be taken with or without food.
• Complete the full prescribed course even if symptoms improve.

PRECAUTIONS
• Do not use if allergic to clindamycin or lincomycin
• Use with caution in patients with:
o History of gastrointestinal disease, especially colitis
o Liver or kidney impairment
• Prolonged use may result in superinfection
• Inform your doctor if pregnant or breastfeeding
• Antibiotic associated diarrhea, including Clostridioides difficile–associated diarrhea, may occur
• Inform healthcare providers of all medicines currently being taken

SIDE EFFECTS
Common side effects may include:
• Nausea or vomiting
• Abdominal pain
• Diarrhea
• Skin rash
Serious but rare side effects:
• Severe or persistent diarrhea
• Allergic reactions (swelling, itching, difficulty breathing)
• Signs of colitis (watery or bloody stools)
