DESCRIPTION
HYPERTAN Losartan Tablet 50mg contains losartan potassium, an angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB). It works by relaxing blood vessels, allowing blood to flow more easily, thereby lowering blood pressure and reducing strain on the heart.

USES
• Treatment of hypertension (high blood pressure)
• Helps reduce the risk of stroke in patients with hypertension and left ventricular hypertrophy
• Treatment of diabetic nephropathy in patients with type 2 diabetes and hypertension
• Helps protect kidney function in patients with high blood pressure

DOSAGE
• Adults:
o Usual dose: 50 mg once daily
o Dose may be adjusted based on patient response or as directed by a physician
May be taken with or without food. Take at the same time each day.

PRECAUTIONS
• Do not exceed the recommended dose
• Consult a doctor before use if pregnant or planning pregnancy (contraindicated in pregnancy)
• Use with caution in patients with kidney or liver impairment
• Inform your doctor if taking diuretics, potassium supplements, or potassium containing salt substitutes
• Monitor blood pressure regularly
• Not recommended during breastfeeding unless advised by a physician

SIDE EFFECTS
Generally well tolerated. Possible side effects may include:
• Dizziness or lightheadedness, especially at the start of treatment
• Headache
• Fatigue
• Low blood pressure (hypotension)
• Increased potassium levels (hyperkalemia, rare)
Seek medical attention if severe dizziness, fainting, or allergic reactions occur.
