DESCRIPTION
DAKTARIN Miconazole Nitrate Oral Gel contains miconazole nitrate, an antifungal agent effective against Candida species and other susceptible fungi. The oral gel formulation is designed to adhere to the oral mucosa, allowing prolonged contact with the affected area to treat fungal infections of the mouth and throat.

USES
• Treatment of oral candidiasis (oral thrush)
• Treatment of oropharyngeal fungal infections
• Relief of soreness, redness, and white patches in the mouth caused by fungal infection
• Adjunct treatment of fungal infections at the corners of the mouth (angular cheilitis), when associated with oral thrush

DOSAGE
• Adults:
o 2.5 mL (½ measuring spoon) 4 times daily, or as directed by a physician
• Children and infants (4 months and older):
o As directed by a physician, usually smaller divided doses
Administration:
• Apply the gel in the mouth and keep it in contact with the affected areas as long as possible before swallowing
• Continue treatment for at least 7 days after symptoms resolve
• Not recommended for infants below 4 months

PRECAUTIONS
• Do not use in infants below 4 months due to risk of choking
• Use with caution in patients with liver disease
• Consult a doctor before use if pregnant or breastfeeding
• Do not swallow large amounts at once
• Inform your doctor if taking oral anticoagulants (e.g., warfarin), as miconazole may increase bleeding risk
• Discontinue use and consult a doctor if irritation or hypersensitivity occurs

SIDE EFFECTS
Generally well tolerated. Possible side effects may include:
• Nausea or vomiting
• Diarrhea
• Mouth irritation or burning sensation
• Altered taste
Rare:
• Allergic reactions such as rash or swelling
