DESCRIPTION
BACTESTOP Mupirocin Ointment 2% w/w 5g is a topical antibiotic containing mupirocin. It is effective against susceptible bacteria, particularly Staphylococcus aureus, including strains causing skin infections. The ointment works by inhibiting bacterial protein synthesis, thereby stopping bacterial growth and helping clear infection.

USES
• Treatment of primary skin infections such as impetigo
• Treatment of secondary skin infections due to bacteria
• Infected cuts, wounds, abrasions, and minor burns
• Infected eczema or dermatitis as advised by a physician

DOSAGE
• Adults and children:
o Apply a small amount to the affected area 2–3 times daily or as directed by a physician
• May be covered with a sterile dressing if required
• For external use only
Clean and dry the affected area before application.

• Avoid contact with eyes, mouth, and mucous membranes
• Do not use on large areas of broken skin unless advised by a doctor
• Prolonged use may result in overgrowth of non susceptible organisms
• Discontinue use and consult a doctor if severe irritation or allergic reaction occurs
• Consult a physician before use in infants

SIDE EFFECTS
Generally well tolerated. Possible side effects may include:
