DESCRIPTION
CECROCEF Cefaclor Monohydrate Granules for Oral Suspension 125 mg/60 mL contains cefaclor monohydrate, a second generation cephalosporin antibiotic. After reconstitution, it forms an oral suspension used to treat susceptible bacterial infections by inhibiting bacterial cell wall synthesis, leading to bacterial cell death.

USES
• Treatment of respiratory tract infections (e.g., bronchitis, pneumonia, pharyngitis, tonsillitis)
• Treatment of ear infections (otitis media)
• Treatment of skin and soft tissue infections
• Treatment of urinary tract infections
• Other infections caused by cefaclor sensitive organisms, as prescribed

DOSAGE
• Children: Dosage is based on body weight, age, and severity of infection, as prescribed by a healthcare professional
• Doses are usually given two to three times daily
Note: Shake well before each dose. Use the measuring device provided. Complete the full course of therapy even if symptoms improve.

PRECAUTIONS
• Check for history of allergy to cephalosporins or penicillins before use
• Use with caution in patients with a history of gastrointestinal disease, especially colitis
• Dosage adjustment may be required in patients with renal impairment
• Prolonged use may result in overgrowth of non susceptible organisms
• Pregnancy and breastfeeding: use only if prescribed by a healthcare professional

SIDE EFFECTS
• Diarrhea

• Abdominal pain

• Rarely, allergic reactions such as urticaria or anaphylaxis
• Rare cases of antibiotic associated colitis
