EKOSART Losartan Tablet 50mg
DESCRIPTION
EKOSART Losartan Tablet 50mg contains losartan potassium, an angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB). It lowers blood pressure by relaxing and widening blood vessels, which improves blood flow and reduces strain on the heart. It also helps protect kidney function, particularly in patients with diabetes.

USES
• Treatment of hypertension (high blood pressure)
• Helps reduce the risk of stroke in patients with hypertension and left ventricular hypertrophy
• Treatment of diabetic nephropathy in patients with type 2 diabetes and hypertension
• Helps protect kidney function and slow progression of kidney disease

DOSAGE
• Adults:
o Usual dose: 50mg once daily
o Dose may be adjusted (25–100mg daily) depending on response, or as directed by a physician
May be taken with or without food. Take at the same time each day.

PRECAUTIONS
• Do not exceed the recommended dose
• Contraindicated in pregnancy; discontinue immediately if pregnancy occurs
• Use with caution in patients with kidney or liver impairment
• Inform your doctor if taking diuretics, potassium supplements, or potassium containing salt substitutes
• Monitor blood pressure, kidney function, and potassium levels regularly
• Consult a doctor before use if breastfeeding

SIDE EFFECTS
Generally well tolerated. Possible side effects may include:
• Dizziness or lightheadedness
• Headache
• Fatigue
• Low blood pressure (hypotension)
• Increased potassium levels (hyperkalemia, rare)
