DESCRIPTION
TGP Rosuvastatin Film Coated Tablet 20mg contains rosuvastatin calcium, a lipid lowering medication belonging to the statin class. It works by inhibiting HMG CoA reductase, an enzyme involved in cholesterol synthesis in the liver, thereby reducing levels of total cholesterol, LDL (“bad” cholesterol), and triglycerides while increasing HDL (“good” cholesterol).

USES
• Treatment of hypercholesterolemia (high cholesterol)
• Reduction of elevated LDL cholesterol, total cholesterol, and triglycerides
• Increase of HDL cholesterol
• Prevention of cardiovascular events such as heart attack and stroke in high risk patients
• Management of mixed dyslipidemia in combination with diet and lifestyle modification

DOSAGE
• Adults:
o Usual dose: 5–20mg once daily, or as directed by a physician
o Maximum dose: 40mg per day in selected patients under medical supervision
May be taken with or without food. Take at the same time each day.

PRECAUTIONS
• Do not exceed the recommended dose
• Contraindicated in patients with active liver disease or unexplained persistent elevations of liver enzymes
• Use with caution in patients with kidney impairment or hypothyroidism
• Risk of muscle injury (myopathy/rhabdomyolysis); report unexplained muscle pain or weakness
• Consult a doctor before use if pregnant or breastfeeding (contraindicated in pregnancy and lactation)
• Avoid excessive alcohol intake
• Regular monitoring of liver enzymes and lipid levels is recommended
