DESCRIPTION
HYPERTAN Losartan Tablet 100mg contains losartan potassium, an angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB). It works by relaxing and widening blood vessels, thereby lowering blood pressure and improving blood flow. This helps reduce strain on the heart and protects the kidneys, particularly in patients with diabetes.

USES
• Treatment of hypertension (high blood pressure)
• Helps reduce the risk of stroke in patients with hypertension and left ventricular hypertrophy
• Treatment of diabetic nephropathy in patients with type 2 diabetes and hypertension
• Helps protect kidney function and slow the progression of kidney disease

DOSAGE
• Adults:
o Usual dose: 50–100 mg once daily, depending on patient response, or as directed by a physician
May be taken with or without food. Take at the same time each day.

PRECAUTIONS
• Do not exceed the recommended dose
• Contraindicated in pregnancy; consult a doctor immediately if pregnancy is suspected
• Use with caution in patients with kidney or liver impairment
• Inform your doctor if taking diuretics, potassium supplements, or potassium containing salt substitutes
• Monitor blood pressure and kidney function regularly
• Breastfeeding women should consult a physician before use

SIDE EFFECTS
Generally well tolerated. Possible side effects may include:
• Dizziness or lightheadedness, especially at the start of treatment
