DESCRIPTION
TGP Levofloxacin Film Coated Tablet 500 mg contains levofloxacin, a broad spectrum fluoroquinolone antibiotic. It works by inhibiting bacterial DNA gyrase and topoisomerase IV, enzymes essential for bacterial DNA replication and repair, resulting in the elimination of susceptible bacteria.

USES
• Treatment of respiratory tract infections (e.g., pneumonia, bronchitis, sinusitis)
• Treatment of urinary tract infections, including complicated UTIs and pyelonephritis
• Treatment of skin and soft tissue infections
• Treatment of prostatitis
• Treatment of gastrointestinal and intra abdominal infections, as prescribed
• Other infections caused by levofloxacin sensitive organisms

DOSAGE
• Adults: Usually 500 mg once daily, for a duration determined by the type and severity of infection
Note: Dosage and treatment duration must follow the physician’s prescription. Take with or without food. Complete the full course even if symptoms improve.

PRECAUTIONS
• Use with caution in elderly patients and those with kidney impairment; dose adjustment may be required
• Increased risk of tendonitis and tendon rupture, especially in elderly patients or those on corticosteroids
• May cause dizziness; avoid driving or operating machinery if affected
• Use with caution in patients with seizure disorders or QT prolongation
• Avoid excessive sun exposure due to risk of photosensitivity
• Not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding unless clearly prescribed

SIDE EFFECTS

• Tendon pain or inflammation
