DESCRIPTION
FIRSTMED Cefixime Powder for Oral Suspension 100 mg/5 mL (60 mL) contains cefixime, a third generation cephalosporin antibiotic. After reconstitution with water, it forms an oral suspension that works by inhibiting bacterial cell wall synthesis, leading to the elimination of susceptible bacteria. This formulation is suitable for pediatric patients and individuals who have difficulty swallowing tablets.

• Treatment of respiratory tract infections (e.g., pharyngitis, tonsillitis, bronchitis)
• Treatment of ear infections (otitis media)
• Treatment of urinary tract infections
• Treatment of uncomplicated gastrointestinal and enteric infections (e.g., typhoid fever) caused by susceptible organisms
• Other bacterial infections as prescribed by a healthcare professional

DOSAGE
• Children: Dosage is based on age, body weight, and severity of infection, as prescribed by a healthcare professional
• Usually administered once or twice daily

PRECAUTIONS
• Check for a history of hypersensitivity to cephalosporins or penicillins before use
