DESCRIPTION
TGP Co Amoxiclav Film Coated Tablet 500 mg/125 mg is a combination antibiotic containing amoxicillin, a broad spectrum penicillin, and clavulanic acid, a beta lactamase inhibitor. Clavulanic acid protects amoxicillin from inactivation by beta lactamase–producing bacteria, thereby extending its antibacterial spectrum against susceptible organisms.

USES
• Treatment of respiratory tract infections (e.g., sinusitis, bronchitis, pneumonia)
• Treatment of ear, nose, and throat infections (e.g., otitis media, tonsillitis)
• Treatment of skin and soft tissue infections
• Treatment of urinary tract infections
• Dental infections and other mixed bacterial infections caused by susceptible organisms

DOSAGE
• Adults: Usually one tablet every 8–12 hours, depending on severity of infection and physician’s advice
Note: Take at the start of a meal to reduce gastrointestinal side effects. Complete the full prescribed course even if symptoms improve.

PRECAUTIONS
• Contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to penicillins, cephalosporins, or beta lactam antibiotics
• Use with caution in patients with liver impairment or history of antibiotic associated jaundice
• Prolonged use may result in overgrowth of non susceptible organisms
• Dose adjustment may be required in renal impairment
• Use during pregnancy and breastfeeding only if prescribed by a healthcare professional

• Diarrhea

• Skin rash or itching
• Headache
• Rarely, liver enzyme elevation, allergic reactions, or antibiotic associated colitis
