DESCRIPTION
MYRECEF Cefixime Powder for Oral Suspension 100 mg/60 mL contains cefixime, a third generation cephalosporin antibiotic. After reconstitution, it forms an oral suspension that works by inhibiting bacterial cell wall synthesis, leading to the elimination of susceptible bacteria. It is commonly used in pediatric patients and in those who cannot swallow tablets.

• Treatment of respiratory tract infections (e.g., pharyngitis, tonsillitis, bronchitis)
• Treatment of ear infections (otitis media)
• Treatment of urinary tract infections
• Treatment of uncomplicated gastrointestinal and typhoid infections caused by susceptible organisms
• Other bacterial infections as prescribed by a healthcare professional

DOSAGE
• Children: Dosage is based on age, body weight, and severity of infection, as prescribed by a healthcare professional
• Usually administered once or twice daily
Note: Shake well before each dose. Use the measuring device provided. Complete the full course of treatment even if symptoms improve.

PRECAUTIONS
• Check for history of allergy to cephalosporins or penicillins before use
• Use with caution in patients with a history of gastrointestinal disease, especially colitis
