DESCRIPTION
TOZAM Losartan Potassium + Amlodipine Film Coated Tablet is a fixed dose combination antihypertensive medication.
• Losartan is an angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB) that relaxes blood vessels by blocking the effects of angiotensin II.
• Amlodipine is a calcium channel blocker that reduces peripheral vascular resistance by relaxing vascular smooth muscle.
The combination provides more effective and sustained blood pressure control than either component alone.

USES
• Management of hypertension (high blood pressure)
• Blood pressure control in patients not adequately controlled on monotherapy
• Reduction of cardiovascular risk associated with persistent hypertension
• Adjunct therapy in patients requiring combination antihypertensive treatment

DOSAGE
Use strictly as directed by a physician.
• Adults: 1 film coated tablet once daily
Tablet may be taken with or without food and should be taken at the same time each day.

PRECAUTIONS
• Contraindicated during pregnancy, especially in the second and third trimesters
• Use with caution in patients with liver impairment, kidney disease, or dehydration
• Monitor blood pressure, kidney function, and potassium levels periodically
• Avoid potassium supplements or potassium containing salt substitutes unless advised
• Amlodipine may cause edema; monitor for swelling of ankles or feet
• Consult a healthcare professional before use during breastfeeding
• Inform the physician of all other medications being taken to avoid interactions
