DESCRIPTION
LOSACARAM 50 is a fixed dose combination antihypertensive medication containing Losartan Potassium and Amlodipine. Losartan is an angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB) that relaxes blood vessels by blocking angiotensin II, while amlodipine is a calcium channel blocker that dilates blood vessels by inhibiting calcium influx. Together, they provide effective and sustained reduction of blood pressure through complementary mechanisms.

• Management of hypertension (high blood pressure)
• Blood pressure control in patients not adequately controlled with single drug therapy
• Reduction of cardiovascular risk associated with prolonged hypertension

DOSAGE
Use strictly as directed by a physician.
• Adults: 1 film coated tablet once daily
The tablet may be taken with or without food and should be taken at the same time each day.

PRECAUTIONS
• Contraindicated during pregnancy, especially in the second and third trimesters
• Use with caution in patients with liver impairment, kidney disease, or volume depletion
• Monitor blood pressure, kidney function, and serum potassium periodically
• Avoid potassium supplements or potassium containing salt substitutes unless advised
• Amlodipine may cause peripheral edema; monitor for swelling of ankles or feet
