DESCRIPTION
TRUSTPILL is a combined oral contraceptive containing ethinylestradiol (estrogen) and levonorgestrel (progestin), with ferrous fumarate (iron) in the inactive tablets.
Each 28-tablet pack contains:
• 21 active tablets: Ethinylestradiol 30 mcg + Levonorgestrel 125 mcg
• 7 inactive tablets: Ferrous fumarate 75 mg
It works by inhibiting ovulation, thickening cervical mucus, and altering the endometrium, thereby preventing pregnancy.
The iron component helps maintain hemoglobin levels during menstruation.

USES
• Oral contraception (prevention of pregnancy)
• Management of menstrual disorders such as:
o Dysmenorrhea (painful menstruation)
o Menorrhagia (heavy bleeding)
o Premenstrual syndrome
o Irregular menstrual cycles

DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION
• Adults and adolescents:
o Take one tablet daily, preferably at the same time each day
o Follow the sequence of the 28-day pack (21 active + 7 iron tablets)
Initiation:
• Start on the first day of menstruation or as advised by a physician
• If started later in the cycle, use backup contraception for 7 days
Missed Dose:
• 1–2 tablets missed: Take as soon as remembered, then continue
• ≥3 tablets missed: Continue taking tablets and use backup contraception for 7 days

PRECAUTIONS
Use with caution or avoid in patients with:
• History of thromboembolic disorders, stroke, or heart disease
• Breast or estrogen-dependent cancers
• Uncontrolled hypertension or diabetes
• Liver disease
• Migraine with neurological symptoms
General Precautions:
• Does not protect against HIV or other sexually transmitted infections (STIs)
• Smoking increases risk of blood clots, especially in women ≥35 years
• Requires medical supervision and regular check-ups
Drug Interactions:
• Reduced effectiveness with:
o Rifampicin
o Antiepileptics
o Some antibiotics
• Increased hormone levels with:
o Certain antifungals
o Macrolide antibiotics
o Grapefruit juice
