DESCRIPTION
FIXCOM3 Rifampicin + Isoniazid + Ethambutol Tablet is a fixed dose combination anti tuberculosis medicine.
• Rifampicin is a bactericidal antibiotic that inhibits bacterial RNA synthesis.
• Isoniazid is a first line antitubercular agent effective against actively dividing Mycobacterium tuberculosis.
• Ethambutol inhibits cell wall synthesis and helps prevent the development of drug resistance.
The combination is used as part of standardized tuberculosis (TB) treatment regimens to improve compliance and therapeutic effectiveness.

USES
• Treatment of pulmonary and extrapulmonary tuberculosis
• Part of initial and continuation phases of TB therapy as prescribed
• Helps prevent drug resistance when used in combination regimens
Not intended for use as monotherapy

DOSAGE
• Dosage is individualized based on body weight and treatment regimen
• Taken once daily, preferably on an empty stomach or as directed by a physician

PRECAUTIONS
• Use with caution in patients with liver disease, alcohol dependence, or renal impairment
• Regular monitoring of liver function tests is recommended
• Ethambutol may cause visual disturbances; periodic eye examinations are advised
• Rifampicin may cause orange red discoloration of urine, sweat, and tears (harmless)
• Numerous drug interactions possible, especially with oral contraceptives and anticoagulants
• Not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding unless clearly needed and prescribed
• Use only under a DOTS or supervised TB program, if applicable

SIDE EFFECTS
Common side effects may include:
• Nausea, vomiting, abdominal discomfort
• Loss of appetite
• Headache or dizziness
Serious or less common side effects:
• Hepatotoxicity (jaundice, dark urine, fatigue)
• Visual disturbances or blurred vision
• Peripheral neuropathy (reduced by Vitamin B6 supplementation)
• Allergic reactions such as rash or itching
Seek immediate medical attention if vision changes or signs of liver injury occur.
