DESCRIPTION
ATENURIX Febuxostat Film Coated Tablet 80 mg contains febuxostat, a non purine xanthine oxidase inhibitor that reduces the production of uric acid in the body. It is used for long term management of hyperuricemia associated with gout by maintaining lower serum uric acid levels.

USES
• Treatment of chronic hyperuricemia in patients with gout
• Helps prevent gout attacks by lowering uric acid levels
• Reduces the formation and deposition of urate crystals in joints and tissues
Not intended for the treatment of acute gout attacks

DOSAGE
• Adults: One tablet (80 mg) once daily, with or without food, as prescribed by a healthcare professional
• Dose adjustments depend on serum uric acid levels and clinical response
• Treatment is usually long term
• Prophylaxis for gout flare (e.g., NSAIDs or colchicine) may be recommended during the initial months of therapy

PRECAUTIONS
• Not recommended in patients with severe cardiovascular disease unless benefits outweigh risks
• Use with caution in patients with liver impairment; liver function monitoring is advised
• May trigger gout flares when therapy is initiated due to mobilization of urate deposits
