DESCRIPTION
PROSOME Esomeprazole Enteric Coated Tablet 40 mg contains esomeprazole, a proton pump inhibitor (PPI) that decreases gastric acid secretion by blocking the final step of acid production in the stomach. The enteric coated formulation protects the medicine from stomach acid, ensuring effective absorption in the intestine.

USES
• Treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD)
• Healing and maintenance therapy of erosive esophagitis
• Management of peptic ulcer disease
• Part of combination therapy for Helicobacter pylori eradication
• Prevention and treatment of NSAID associated gastric ulcers

DOSAGE
• Usual adult dose: 40 mg once daily
• Taken at least 1 hour before meals, preferably in the morning
• Swallow the tablet whole; do not crush, chew, or split
• Duration of treatment should follow a physician’s recommendation

PRECAUTIONS
• Use with caution in patients with severe liver impairment
• Long term use may increase the risk of vitamin B12 deficiency, hypomagnesemia, or bone fractures
