DESCRIPTION
SITAZIT Sitagliptin Film Coated Tablet 100 mg contains sitagliptin, a dipeptidyl peptidase 4 (DPP 4) inhibitor used in the management of Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus. Sitagliptin enhances incretin hormone activity, which increases glucose dependent insulin secretion and decreases glucagon release, resulting in improved blood glucose control without causing significant hypoglycemia when used alone.

USES
• Management of Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus
• Improves glycemic control
• Helps regulate fasting and post prandial blood glucose levels
• Used as monotherapy or in combination with other antidiabetic agents such as metformin, sulfonylureas, or insulin, as prescribed

DOSAGE
• Adults: One tablet (100 mg) once daily, with or without food, or as prescribed by a healthcare professional
• Dosage adjustment may be required in patients with renal impairment

PRECAUTIONS
• Not indicated for Type 1 Diabetes Mellitus or diabetic ketoacidosis
• Use with caution in patients with renal impairment; renal function should be assessed before initiation and periodically thereafter
• Monitor for symptoms of pancreatitis (persistent severe abdominal pain); discontinue if suspected
• Risk of hypoglycemia may increase when combined with sulfonylureas or insulin
• Use during pregnancy or breastfeeding only if clearly needed and prescribed
• Inform the healthcare professional of all concomitant medications being taken
