DESCRIPTION
TAPDIN Thiamazole Tablet 20 mg contains thiamazole (methimazole), an antithyroid agent. It works by inhibiting thyroid hormone synthesis through interference with the iodination of tyrosine residues in thyroglobulin, thereby reducing the production of thyroxine (T4) and triiodothyronine (T3). This helps restore normal thyroid function in patients with hyperthyroidism.

• Preparation of patients with hyperthyroidism for thyroid surgery
• Treatment of hyperthyroidism prior to and following radioactive iodine therapy

DOSAGE
• Dosage is individualized based on the severity of hyperthyroidism and patient response
• Adults: Initial and maintenance doses are determined by a healthcare professional
• Usually taken once to three times daily, with or without food
• Regular monitoring of thyroid function tests (T3, T4, TSH) is required
• Do not discontinue abruptly without medical advice

PRECAUTIONS
• Use with caution in patients with hepatic impairment
