DESCRIPTION
TGP Finasteride Film Coated Tablet 5 mg contains finasteride, a 5 alpha reductase inhibitor. It works by blocking the conversion of testosterone to dihydrotestosterone (DHT), a hormone responsible for prostate enlargement. This leads to reduction in prostate size and improvement in urinary flow over time.

USES
• Treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH)
• Reduction of enlarged prostate size
• Improvement of urinary symptoms such as weak urine stream, hesitancy, and incomplete bladder emptying
• Reduction of the risk of acute urinary retention and need for prostate surgery

DOSAGE
• Adults: 5 mg once daily, taken with or without food
Note: Continuous use for at least 3–6 months may be required to achieve optimal therapeutic benefit. Follow the physician’s instructions strictly.

PRECAUTIONS
• For use in men only; not intended for women or children
• Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant must not handle crushed or broken tablets due to risk to a male fetus
• Use with caution in patients with liver impairment
• Prostate specific antigen (PSA) levels should be monitored, as finasteride reduces PSA values
• Inform the doctor of all existing medical conditions and medications
