DESCRIPTION
TGP Gentamicin Ophthalmic and Otic Solution 0.3% contains gentamicin, an aminoglycoside antibiotic effective against a wide range of gram negative and some gram positive bacteria. It works by inhibiting bacterial protein synthesis, leading to bacterial cell death. This sterile solution is intended for topical use in the eyes and ears to treat susceptible bacterial infections.

USES
• Treatment of bacterial eye infections, including:
o Conjunctivitis
o Blepharitis
o Keratitis
o Blepharoconjunctivitis
• Treatment of bacterial ear infections, such as:
o Otitis externa
• Management of infections caused by gentamicin sensitive organisms

DOSAGE
Ophthalmic (eye) use:
• Instill 1–2 drops into the affected eye(s) every 4–6 hours, or as prescribed by a healthcare professional
• In severe infections, dosing may be increased initially, then reduced as improvement occurs
Otic (ear) use:
• Instill 2–3 drops into the affected ear 2–3 times daily, or as directed
• Avoid touching the dropper tip to any surface
• Use for the full prescribed duration

PRECAUTIONS
• For ophthalmic and otic use only
• Not effective against viral or fungal infections
• Use with caution in patients with known hypersensitivity to aminoglycosides
• Prolonged use may result in overgrowth of non susceptible organisms
• Avoid otic use if tympanic membrane perforation is suspected unless directed by a physician
• Discontinue use and consult a healthcare professional if irritation or allergic reaction develops
• Use during pregnancy or breastfeeding only if clearly needed and prescribed
• Remove contact lenses during ophthalmic treatment unless advised

SIDE EFFECTS
Possible side effects may include:
• Temporary burning or stinging upon application
