DESCRIPTION
GLIPTINS Sitagliptin Film Coated Tablet 100 mg contains sitagliptin, a dipeptidyl peptidase 4 (DPP 4) inhibitor used in the management of Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus. Sitagliptin works by increasing incretin hormone levels, which enhance glucose dependent insulin secretion and reduce glucagon release, thereby helping control blood glucose levels without causing significant hypoglycemia when used alone.

USES
• Management of Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus
• Improves glycemic control
• Helps control fasting and post prandial blood glucose
• Used as monotherapy or in combination with other antidiabetic agents such as metformin, sulfonylureas, or insulin, as prescribed

DOSAGE
• Adults: One tablet (100 mg) once daily, with or without food, or as prescribed by a healthcare professional
• Dosage adjustment may be required in patients with renal impairment

PRECAUTIONS
• Not indicated for Type 1 Diabetes Mellitus or diabetic ketoacidosis
• Use with caution in patients with renal impairment; renal function should be assessed before initiation and periodically thereafter
• Monitor for symptoms of pancreatitis (persistent severe abdominal pain); discontinue if suspected
• Risk of hypoglycemia may increase when used with sulfonylureas or insulin
• Use during pregnancy or breastfeeding only if clearly needed and prescribed
• Inform the healthcare professional of all medications being taken
