DESCRIPTION
TGP MYREX Doxycycline Capsule 100 mg is a broad spectrum antibiotic belonging to the tetracycline class. It works by inhibiting bacterial protein synthesis, thereby stopping the growth and spread of susceptible bacteria. It is effective against a wide range of gram positive, gram negative, and atypical organisms.

USES
• Treatment of respiratory tract infections
• Management of skin and soft tissue infections
• Treatment of urinary tract infections
• Management of sexually transmitted infections (e.g., chlamydia), as prescribed
• Treatment of acne and other dermatologic infections
• Management of zoonotic and tropical infections (e.g., typhus, leptospirosis), as advised
• Other infections caused by doxycycline sensitive bacteria

DOSAGE
• Adults:
Usually 100 mg once or twice daily, depending on the type and severity of infection, or as prescribed by a healthcare professional.
• Take with a full glass of water to reduce throat or esophageal irritation.
• Best taken after meals to lessen stomach discomfort.
• Complete the full prescribed course even if symptoms improve.

PRECAUTIONS
• Do not use if allergic to doxycycline or other tetracycline antibiotics
• Use with caution in patients with:
o Liver disease
o History of esophageal irritation or ulcers
• Not recommended for pregnant women, breastfeeding mothers, or children under 8 years due to risk of tooth discoloration and bone effects
• Avoid prolonged exposure to sunlight; doxycycline may cause photosensitivity
• Avoid taking together with antacids, iron, calcium, or dairy products close to dosing time
• Inform the doctor of all medicines currently being taken
