DESCRIPTION
TGP Carbamazepine Tablet 200 mg contains carbamazepine, an antiepileptic and mood stabilizing agent. It works by reducing abnormal electrical activity in the brain through stabilization of neuronal membranes and inhibition of repetitive neuronal firing. Carbamazepine also has analgesic properties in certain neuropathic pain conditions.

USES
• Treatment of epilepsy, including:
o Partial (focal) seizures
o Generalized tonic clonic seizures
• Management of trigeminal neuralgia
• Treatment of neuropathic pain
• Management of bipolar disorder (as a mood stabilizer)
• Other seizure or neuralgic disorders, as prescribed

DOSAGE
• Dosage is individualized based on the condition, age, and patient response
• Adults: Common initial dose may start at 200 mg once or twice daily, gradually increased as prescribed
• Tablets are usually taken in divided doses with food to reduce gastric irritation
• Do not discontinue abruptly; tapering is required under medical supervision
