DESCRIPTION
COX 2 Celecoxib Capsule 400 mg contains celecoxib, a selective cyclo oxygenase 2 (COX 2) inhibitor non steroidal anti inflammatory drug (NSAID). It works by reducing the production of prostaglandins responsible for pain, inflammation, and swelling, while minimizing gastric irritation compared with non selective NSAIDs.

USES
• Relief of pain and inflammation in osteoarthritis
• Management of rheumatoid arthritis
• Treatment of ankylosing spondylitis
• Relief of acute pain
• Management of primary dysmenorrhea (menstrual pain)
• Other inflammatory or pain conditions as prescribed

DOSAGE
• Adults:
o Common total daily dose ranges from 200–400 mg, taken once daily or in divided doses
o Maximum dose: 400 mg per day, unless directed by a physician
Note: Dosage and duration depend on the condition being treated. Take with or without food. Follow the physician’s instructions strictly.

PRECAUTIONS
• Use the lowest effective dose for the shortest possible duration
• Use with caution in patients with cardiovascular disease or risk factors (risk of heart attack or stroke)
• Use with caution in patients with gastrointestinal disease, kidney or liver impairment
• Contraindicated in patients with sulfonamide allergy
• Not recommended during the last trimester of pregnancy
• Avoid use with other NSAIDs unless advised
• Inform the doctor of all medications being taken

SIDE EFFECTS
• Abdominal pain or dyspepsia
• Diarrhea or nausea
• Headache
• Dizziness
• Peripheral edema
• Increased blood pressure
• Rarely, serious cardiovascular events, kidney problems, or severe skin reactions
Seek medical attention if chest pain, shortness of breath, black stools, or severe skin reactions occur.
