DESCRIPTION
GLIPGLUDIN Sitagliptin + Metformin Tablet 100 mg / 1 g is a fixed dose oral antidiabetic combination.
• Sitagliptin is a dipeptidyl peptidase 4 (DPP 4) inhibitor that increases incretin hormone levels, enhancing glucose dependent insulin release and decreasing glucagon secretion.
• Metformin is a biguanide that lowers blood glucose by reducing hepatic glucose production, decreasing intestinal glucose absorption, and improving insulin sensitivity.
The combination provides complementary mechanisms to achieve improved glycemic control.

USES
• Management of Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus
• Improves fasting and post prandial blood glucose control
• For patients inadequately controlled on metformin alone or other oral antidiabetic therapy
• Used as part of a comprehensive diabetes management plan including diet and exercise

DOSAGE
• Adults: One tablet once or twice daily with meals, as prescribed by a healthcare professional

PRECAUTIONS
• Not indicated for Type 1 Diabetes Mellitus or diabetic ketoacidosis
• Use with caution in patients with renal impairment; metformin dose adjustment or discontinuation may be required
• Risk of lactic acidosis with metformin, particularly in patients with renal dysfunction, dehydration, or severe infection
• Monitor for signs of pancreatitis with sitagliptin (persistent severe abdominal pain)
• Temporarily discontinue metformin before iodinated contrast procedures, if advised
• Use during pregnancy or breastfeeding only if clearly needed and prescribed
• Inform the healthcare provider of all concomitant medications

SIDE EFFECTS
Common side effects may include:
