DESCRIPTION
JENETROL FORTE Co Trimoxazole Tablet 800 mg/160 mg is a combination antibiotic containing sulfamethoxazole (800 mg) and trimethoprim (160 mg). This synergistic combination works by inhibiting successive steps in bacterial folic acid synthesis, resulting in effective bactericidal activity against a wide range of susceptible bacteria.

USES
• Treatment of urinary tract infections (UTIs)
• Management of respiratory tract infections
• Treatment of gastrointestinal infections
• Management of skin and soft tissue infections
• Treatment of ear infections
• Treatment and prevention of Pneumocystis jirovecii pneumonia (PCP), as prescribed
• Other infections caused by co trimoxazole sensitive bacteria

DOSAGE
• Adults:
Usually 1 tablet (800 mg/160 mg) every 12 hours, or as prescribed by a healthcare professional.
• Dosage and duration depend on the type and severity of infection.
• Take with a full glass of water.
• May be taken with or without food.
• Complete the full course of treatment even if symptoms improve.

PRECAUTIONS
• Do not use if allergic to sulfonamides, trimethoprim, or co trimoxazole
• Use with caution in patients with:
o Kidney or liver disease
o Folate deficiency
o Blood disorders
o Asthma or severe allergies

• Prolonged use may require blood count monitoring
• Not recommended during late pregnancy unless clearly needed
