“How much and how often should you use the product? Atorvastatin tablets are taken orally. Your doctor will inform you of the right dosage or number of tablets you should be taking each day based on your age, overall health, and medical conditions. Atorvastatin is usually taken once daily. Avoid eating food that is high in fat or cholesterol. Atorvastatin will not be as effective in lowering your cholesterol if you do not follow the proper diet plan. Please note that it may take up to 2 weeks before you notice any difference in your cholesterol levels, and your doctor may require regular blood tests to monitor your condition. In rare cases, atorvastatin can cause a condition that leads to the breakdown of skeletal muscle tissue which can trigger kidney failure. Inform your doctor immediately if you have unexplained muscle pain, tenderness, or weakness especially if it is combined with fever, unusual tiredness, and dark colored urine. Atorvastatin can harm an unborn baby and can cause birth defects. Do not use this medication if you are pregnant. Stop use of this medication right away and inform your doctor if you become pregnant. Use birth control to prevent pregnancy if you are on atorvastatin. Below are the possible side effects that you may experience from taking atorvastatin tablets. These side effects are possible but do not always occur. If you experience any of these side effects, stop taking the product and immediately consult with your doctor.
