DESCRIPTION
TGP Metoprolol Tablet 50 mg contains metoprolol, a selective beta 1 adrenergic blocker. It works by slowing the heart rate and reducing the force of heart contraction, thereby lowering blood pressure and decreasing the heart’s oxygen demand.

USES
• Treatment of hypertension (high blood pressure)
• Management of angina pectoris
• Control of certain cardiac arrhythmias
• Prevention of myocardial infarction (heart attack) and reduction of mortality after heart attack
• Management of symptoms associated with hyperthyroidism, as prescribed

DOSAGE
• Adults (Hypertension/Angina): Usually 50–100 mg daily, given once or in divided doses, as prescribed
• Other indications: Dosage is individualized based on clinical condition and response
Note: Follow the physician’s instructions strictly. Do not stop treatment suddenly.

PRECAUTIONS
• Use with caution in patients with asthma or chronic obstructive pulmonary disease
• May mask symptoms of hypoglycemia in diabetic patients
• Caution in patients with bradycardia, heart block, or heart failure
• Gradual dose reduction is recommended when discontinuing therapy
• Use during pregnancy and breastfeeding only if prescribed by a physician
• Inform healthcare providers of all other medications being taken
