DESCRIPTION
TGP Sitagliptin + Metformin Film Coated Tablet 50 mg / 1 g is a fixed dose oral antidiabetic combination.
• Sitagliptin is a dipeptidyl peptidase 4 (DPP 4) inhibitor that enhances incretin hormone activity, increasing glucose dependent insulin secretion and decreasing glucagon levels.
• Metformin is a biguanide that lowers blood glucose by reducing hepatic glucose production, decreasing intestinal glucose absorption, and improving insulin sensitivity.
The combination provides complementary mechanisms for improved and sustained glycemic control in Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus.

USES
• Management of Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus
• Improves fasting and post prandial blood glucose control
• For patients inadequately controlled on metformin or sitagliptin monotherapy
• Used alongside diet and exercise for optimal glycemic management

• Adults: One tablet once or twice daily with meals, as prescribed by a healthcare professional

PRECAUTIONS
• Not indicated for Type 1 Diabetes Mellitus or diabetic ketoacidosis
• Use with caution in patients with renal impairment; assess renal function before initiation and periodically thereafter
• Risk of lactic acidosis associated with metformin, especially in renal dysfunction, dehydration, or severe infection
• Monitor for signs of pancreatitis (persistent severe abdominal pain)

SIDE EFFECTS
