DESCRIPTION
VASOTEC Enalapril Maleate Tablet 10 mg is an angiotensin converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitor used to treat high blood pressure and certain heart conditions. It works by blocking the formation of angiotensin II, a substance that causes blood vessels to constrict. This action allows blood vessels to relax, lowering blood pressure and reducing the workload on the heart.

• Treatment of hypertension (high blood pressure)
• Management of heart failure
• Improvement of survival after myocardial infarction (heart attack) with left ventricular dysfunction
• Prevention of complications related to uncontrolled blood pressure, such as stroke and kidney damage, as prescribed

DOSAGE
• Adults:
The usual starting dose is 5–10 mg once daily, depending on blood pressure and clinical condition.
• The dose may be adjusted up to 20–40 mg daily, given as a single dose or in divided doses, as prescribed.
• May be taken with or without food.
• Dosage adjustments may be required in patients taking diuretics or with kidney impairment.
• Take strictly as prescribed by a healthcare professional.

PRECAUTIONS
• Do not use if allergic to enalapril, other ACE inhibitors, or any component of the formulation

o Kidney disease
