DESCRIPTION
AKIDIN Biperiden Hydrochloride Tablet 2 mg contains biperiden hydrochloride, an anticholinergic (antiparkinsonian) agent. It works by blocking central muscarinic receptors, helping restore the balance between dopamine and acetylcholine in the brain. This action reduces motor symptoms such as tremor and rigidity, particularly those associated with Parkinson’s disease and drug induced movement disorders.

USES
• Treatment of Parkinson’s disease
• Management of extrapyramidal symptoms (EPS) caused by antipsychotic or neuroleptic medications, including:
o Drug induced parkinsonism
o Acute dystonic reactions
o Akathisia (as prescribed)

DOSAGE
• Dosage is individualized based on the condition being treated and patient response
• Adults: Usually 1–2 mg, one to three times daily, or as directed by a healthcare professional
• Dose may be increased gradually if needed

PRECAUTIONS
