DESCRIPTION
BURNZINE Silver Sulfadiazine Cream 1% contains silver sulfadiazine, a topical antimicrobial agent. It works by releasing silver ions that inhibit the growth of a wide range of bacteria and some fungi. The cream is primarily used to prevent and treat infections in burn wounds and other susceptible skin injuries.

USES
• Prevention and treatment of infections in burn wounds
• Management of second  and third degree burns
• Treatment of infected skin wounds and ulcers, as prescribed
• Prevention of bacterial colonization in open wounds

DOSAGE
• Adults and Children: Apply a thin layer to the affected area once or twice daily, or as directed by a healthcare professional
Note: Clean the wound thoroughly before application. Cover with sterile dressing if required. Treatment should continue until satisfactory healing occurs or until further medical advice is given.

PRECAUTIONS
• For external use only
• Avoid contact with eyes, mouth, and mucous membranes
• Use with caution in patients with known hypersensitivity to sulfonamides
• Not recommended in premature infants or newborns
• Use with caution in patients with glucose 6 phosphate dehydrogenase (G6PD) deficiency
• Prolonged use may cause skin discoloration or delayed wound healing
• Pregnancy and breastfeeding: use only if prescribed by a healthcare professional

SIDE EFFECTS
• Burning or stinging sensation at the application site
• Skin rash or itching
• Skin discoloration
• Rarely, allergic reactions or blood disorders with prolonged use
Discontinue use and seek medical advice if severe irritation or allergic reactions occur.
