DESCRIPTION
CAPTO Captopril Tablet 25 mg contains captopril, an angiotensin converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitor. It works by relaxing blood vessels, allowing blood to flow more easily, which lowers blood pressure and reduces the workload on the heart.

USES
• Treatment of hypertension (high blood pressure)
• Management of congestive heart failure
• Improvement of survival after myocardial infarction (heart attack)
• Treatment of diabetic nephropathy in selected patients

DOSAGE
• Adults (Hypertension): Usually 25 mg two to three times daily, depending on response
• Heart failure or post myocardial infarction: Dose is individualized and gradually adjusted by a physician
Note: Take on an empty stomach, at least 1 hour before meals, unless otherwise directed.

PRECAUTIONS
• Use with caution in patients with renal impairment or electrolyte imbalance
• Monitor blood pressure, kidney function, and serum potassium regularly
• May cause excessive blood pressure reduction, especially after the first dose
• Use with caution in patients with dehydration or those on diuretics
• Not recommended during pregnancy due to risk of fetal harm
• Breastfeeding should be discussed with a healthcare professional

SIDE EFFECTS
• Dry, persistent cough
• Dizziness or lightheadedness
• Hypotension
• Skin rash or itching
• Altered sense of taste
• Rarely, angioedema (swelling of face, lips, or throat)
