DESCRIPTION
GABIX Gabapentin Capsule contains gabapentin, an anticonvulsant and neuropathic pain agent. Although structurally related to gamma aminobutyric acid (GABA), gabapentin does not act directly on GABA receptors. It works by modulating calcium channels in the central nervous system, thereby reducing abnormal nerve excitability and pain signaling.

USES
• Neuropathic pain (e.g., diabetic neuropathy, post herpetic neuralgia)
• Adjunct treatment of partial seizures with or without secondary generalization
• Nerve related pain conditions
• Management of chronic neuropathic discomfort, as prescribed

DOSAGE
Use strictly as directed by a physician.
• Adults:
Common starting dose is 300 mg once daily, usually increased gradually based on response and tolerability
• Dose may be titrated to divided doses (e.g., 300 mg two to three times daily)
Capsules should be swallowed whole with water and may be taken with or without food.

PRECAUTIONS
• Do not discontinue abruptly; dose should be tapered gradually to avoid withdrawal symptoms or seizure risk
