DESCRIPTION
Ova-Mit contains Clomifene Citrate 50 mg, a selective estrogen receptor modulator (SERM). It is commonly used to stimulate ovulation in women who have difficulty conceiving due to ovulatory dysfunction.
It works by blocking estrogen receptors in the hypothalamus, leading to increased release of hormones (FSH and LH) that trigger ovulation.

USES
Ova-Mit is indicated for:
• Anovulation (absence of ovulation)
• Infertility due to irregular ovulation, including:
o Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS)
• Induction of ovulation in women trying to conceive
• Sometimes used in assisted reproductive techniques under medical supervision

DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION
• Usual starting dose: 50 mg once daily for 5 days
• Typically started on Day 2, 3, 4, or 5 of the menstrual cycle
• If ovulation does not occur, dose may be increased in subsequent cycles (e.g., 100 mg daily)
• Maximum usually 100–150 mg per cycle (only under doctor supervision)
Important:
• Do not self-adjust dosage
• Ovulation monitoring (ultrasound or hormonal testing) is often recommended

PRECAUTIONS
Use with caution in patients with:
• Liver disease
• Ovarian cysts (non-PCOS related)
• Thyroid or adrenal disorders
• Unexplained uterine bleeding
• Visual disturbances history
Other important precautions:
• May increase chance of multiple pregnancy (twins or more)
• Requires medical supervision for fertility monitoring
• Not recommended for long-term continuous use (usually limited to 3–6 cycles)
• May cause ovarian enlargement or hyperstimulation in rare cases

SIDE EFFECTS
Common:
• Hot flashes
• Abdominal bloating or discomfort
• Breast tenderness
• Nausea or vomiting
• Headache
• Mood swings
Less common but serious:
• Ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome (OHSS)
• Visual disturbances (blurred vision, spots, flashes)
• Enlarged ovaries with pain
• Multiple pregnancy
• Rare allergic reactions
Seek medical help immediately if visual changes or severe pelvic pain occur.
