DESCRIPTION
POCIT Potassium Citrate Extended Release Tablet contains potassium citrate, an alkalinizing agent that helps neutralize urinary acidity. By increasing urinary citrate levels and pH, potassium citrate reduces the formation of certain types of kidney stones and helps correct low potassium levels. The extended release (ER) formulation provides gradual release for sustained therapeutic effect and improved gastrointestinal tolerability.

USES
• Prevention of kidney stones, particularly:
o Uric acid stones
o Calcium oxalate stones with hypocitraturia
• Management of hypocitraturia
• Treatment of renal tubular acidosis
• Urinary alkalinization
• Potassium supplementation in patients requiring citrate therapy

DOSAGE
Use strictly as directed by a physician.
• Adults: Dosage individualized based on urinary citrate levels and urine pH
• Common regimens include 1 tablet 2–3 times daily, or as prescribed
Administration:
• Take with meals or within 30 minutes after meals
• Swallow the tablet whole with a full glass of water
• Do not crush, chew, or split the extended release tablet

PRECAUTIONS
• Contraindicated in patients with hyperkalemia, severe renal impairment, or conditions predisposing to potassium retention
