DESCRIPTION
TAREG Valsartan Film Coated Tablet contains valsartan, an angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB). It lowers blood pressure by blocking the effects of angiotensin II, a hormone that causes blood vessels to constrict. By relaxing and widening blood vessels, valsartan improves blood flow and reduces the workload on the heart.

USES
• Management of hypertension (high blood pressure)
• Treatment of heart failure (as prescribed)
• Reduction of cardiovascular mortality following myocardial infarction (heart attack)
• Renal and vascular protection in hypertensive patients, as advised

DOSAGE
Use strictly as directed by a physician.
• Adults: 80 mg once daily
• Dose may be adjusted based on blood pressure response and clinical condition
Tablet may be taken with or without food and should be taken at the same time each day. Swallow whole with water.

PRECAUTIONS
• Contraindicated during pregnancy, especially in the second and third trimesters
• Use with caution in patients with renal impairment, hepatic impairment, or dehydration
• Monitor blood pressure, kidney function, and serum potassium levels regularly
• Avoid potassium supplements or potassium containing salt substitutes unless advised
• Use with caution in patients taking diuretics due to risk of hypotension

• Inform the physician of all other medications being taken to avoid interactions

SIDE EFFECTS
• Dizziness or lightheadedness
• Headache
• Fatigue
• Low blood pressure (hypotension)
• Increased potassium levels (hyperkalemia)
