DESCRIPTION
RASATAB 1 Rasagiline Tablet 1 mg contains rasagiline, a selective and irreversible monoamine oxidase B (MAO B) inhibitor. It works by increasing dopamine levels in the brain through inhibition of dopamine breakdown, thereby helping improve motor symptoms associated with Parkinson’s disease.

USES
• Treatment of Parkinson’s disease
• Used as monotherapy in early Parkinson’s disease
• Used as adjunct therapy with levodopa in advanced Parkinson’s disease to manage motor fluctuations
• Helps improve motor function, including rigidity, tremor, and bradykinesia

DOSAGE
• Adults: One tablet (1 mg) once daily, with or without food, or as prescribed by a healthcare professional
• Dose adjustment may be required when used with levodopa
• Follow the prescribed regimen strictly

PRECAUTIONS
• Contraindicated with other MAO inhibitors, meperidine, tramadol, methadone, dextromethorphan, or St. John’s wort
• Use with caution when taken with antidepressants due to risk of serotonin syndrome
• Monitor for hypertension, especially with excessive dietary tyramine intake (although restrictions are generally not required at therapeutic doses)
• Use with caution in patients with hepatic impairment
• Not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding unless clearly needed and prescribed
