DESCRIPTION
RITEMED Co Amoxiclav Film Coated Tablet is a combination antibiotic containing Amoxicillin 500 mg and Clavulanic Acid 125 mg. Amoxicillin is a penicillin type antibiotic that works by inhibiting bacterial cell wall synthesis, while clavulanic acid is a beta lactamase inhibitor that protects amoxicillin from breakdown by beta lactamase–producing bacteria. This combination broadens the antibacterial spectrum and improves treatment effectiveness against resistant organisms.

USES
• Upper respiratory tract infections (e.g., sinusitis, tonsillitis, otitis media)
• Lower respiratory tract infections (e.g., bronchitis, pneumonia)
• Skin and soft tissue infections
• Urinary tract infections
• Dental infections
• Other infections caused by amoxicillin clavulanate–sensitive bacteria
Not effective for viral infections such as colds or influenza.

DOSAGE
Use strictly as directed by a physician.
• Adults: 1 tablet every 8–12 hours, depending on severity of infection
• Duration of therapy is determined by the type and response of the infection
Tablet should be swallowed whole with water, preferably at the start of a meal to reduce stomach upset.

PRECAUTIONS
• Do not use in patients with known hypersensitivity to penicillins, cephalosporins, or beta lactam antibiotics
• Use with caution in patients with hepatic impairment or history of amoxicillin clavulanate–associated jaundice
• Prolonged use may lead to secondary infections
• Dose adjustment may be required in renal impairment
• Consult a healthcare professional before use during pregnancy or breastfeeding
• Discontinue and seek medical advice if severe diarrhea or signs of allergic reaction occur
• Complete the full prescribed course to prevent antibiotic resistance

SIDE EFFECTS
