DESCRIPTION
RITEMED Metformin Hydrochloride Tablet 500 mg contains metformin HCl, a biguanide oral antidiabetic agent. It works primarily by decreasing hepatic glucose production, reducing intestinal absorption of glucose, and improving peripheral insulin sensitivity, thereby lowering blood glucose levels without stimulating insulin secretion.

USES
• Management of Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus
• Helps control fasting and post prandial blood glucose levels
• Used when diet and exercise alone are insufficient
• May be used alone or in combination with other antidiabetic agents (e.g., sulfonylureas, DPP 4 inhibitors, insulin)

DOSAGE

PRECAUTIONS
• Not indicated for Type 1 Diabetes Mellitus or diabetic ketoacidosis

SIDE EFFECTS
Common side effects may include:
